The Future FWD program has been designed for maximum engagement and actionable learning oriented toward valuable takeaways and tangible outcomes. We believe that digital learning should be awesome. We’ve been a digital, distributed organization from the start, and when we moved our programs to be digital-first, we saw an exciting opportunity to make them not only more accessible, but also more interactive, more flexible, and more varied. We saw the opportunity to incorporate new modalities and new tools and to challenge widely held assumptions about the limits of digital learning. We love an active chat, facilitated whiteboarding, breakout discussions, live polling, and collaborative group work, and with two leaders in our sessions, we keep the energy high and the participants deeply engaged.
We believe in collaboration and co-leadership. Our learning experiences are conversational and dynamic by design. They begin as a partnership, and with two leads, we start from a place of exchange, trust, generative questioning, and reciprocity. We DON’T do “lectures”, and we DO bring to the experience the same things we want to see from our participants to make the most of our time together. Where We Are & Where We're Going
We start by meeting you right where you are – in a global context of heightened uncertainty. We’ll share strategies for sitting with uncertainty more productively and even using it as a springboard for creative inquiry and learning In the second part of the session, we unpack drivers and dynamics of accelerating change. You’ll learn to spot weak signals, to assess five determining factors which turn weak into strong signals and to apply this foresight framework to identify business opportunities.
Live Online Session #2
Disruption is fundamentally different from innovation. Together we will explore those differences while questioning some of the assumptions at the core of popular narratives about disruptive products and firms. We’ll identify the main forces that actually drive disruption and the common challenges incumbent organizations and their people encounter when it comes to embracing disruptive change. The session culminates in a practical exploration of the core/edge concept and how to apply it to your organization.

Increasing complexity and interconnectedness require us to change the way we approach leadership and problem-solving. We’ll delve into complexity as a defining characteristic of today’s decision environment and the dynamics of the adaptive challenges that are critical to 21st century leadership. We’ll explore the concept of polarities — a class of unsolvable challenges that exist as tensions to be managed in an organization or system — with a specific focus on the adaptability/control dynamic. You’ll come away with a set of transferable practices suited to learning your way through an uncertain present and toward a more adaptable and resilient future.

Prototyping Your Future Self
Future fitness and adaptability ask us to embrace continuous transformation — at both the individual and organization levels. In this closing session, we detail principles and practices for building systems and cultures optimized for learning, which is the key to positive change. We’ll share our methodology for rapid learning and effective experimentation, and we’ll explore mindset and narrative as essential, powerful tools for creating change and ultimately shaping a preferred future.

Meet Your Instructors.
Pascal is Co-Founder at be radical, EY’s wavespace Advisory Board Chair, SingularityU’s Chair for Entrepreneurship & Open Innovation, VC at BOLD Capital Partners. Previously he held leadership positions at Google.org, Mozilla, and eBay, built technology startups, launched a Venture Capital firm. He is the posse leader at TheHeretic.org, and is a general upstart when it comes to creating meaningful change.
Jeffrey is Principal Learning & Facilitation at be radical. Jeffrey is passionate about lifelong learning and designing unique learning experiences that build knowledge while also building community. He’s been a top-rated facilitator and moderator of executive education programs and international summits at Singularity University and has been featured as a guest lecturer and workshop leader at UC Berkeley Haas, the Hasso Plattner Institute at Stanford, and the Empowerment Summit at ECAL in Lausanne.
